This 1928 Hispano-Suiza is a beautiful example of classic Coachwork from times gone bye. The chassis was designed by Marc Birkigt. During World War I, Birkigt designed V-8 engines were mass produced and used in airplanes by the Allied nations. Riding that success, he modified the design to a 6 cylinder version and placed it in this Hispano-Suize chassis. The engine uses a 7 main-bearing crank shaft that was machined from 1 770 pound billet. Another innovation was a servo assisted 4-wheel brake system that Rolls-Royce paid royalties for!
The beautiful body was designed by Georges Kellner Jr. It utilizes the torpedo body style the Kellner Freres of Paris (the Coach builder) was known for at the time. Sadly, just 10 years after this car was built, both companies closed their doors.
